Dear Madam, Dear Sir,

During the last municipal council elections, several hundred ballot papers were fraudulently completed in order to get certain candidates elected.

By doing this, the individuals responsible robbed you of your right to be represented by people who would defend your interests and values.

This attack on our democracy has been detected and will undoubtedly be punished. However, it reveals the vulnerability of our electoral system and highlights the importance of your vote. Your voice is valuable, valuable enough that some people decided to take it away from you.

In our municipality and in every political party, there are men and women who are committed to improve the quality of life in Vernier. They bring projects and ideas to the table. They are people of integrity who deserve your trust, and who deserve you to take the time to go out and vote.

Only through voting will confidence in our democracy be restored. Voting is a political act and a strong signal to those who think they can hijack democracy for their own benefit. Voting is a way of affirming that democracy is alive and important to you. It is a way of refusing to let others decide for you.

We firmly believe that democracy is worth defending and we hope that you share this ideal.

Make your voice heard on November 30. Vote!

We have faith in you.

Jonathan Mailler, President, The Center Vernier

Yves Herber, President, The Greenliberals Vernier
